Our thoughts are impermanent but at the time of their conception, they are at the centre of ones’ attention and typically demand an unavoidable amount of it. I am focusing on illustrating the struggle that occurs once thoughts and feelings begin to build. This is something that is intangible, and private. Typically, unless a person shows any signs of their emotions or discusses their thoughts, these things are left hidden.
Although the majority of it is contained inside the head, on all works, the scribble leaks out slightly. My intention of the scribble is for it to depict a person’s emotions, as described above. By having it seeping through the head, it connotes the idea of how these things are uncontainable. This is done however, in a very clean and simplified manor. The portrait still focuses on being visually appealing.
